Procedure for Installation of a New Cloverdale Lions Club Member

1. After a current member has invited a new guest to two meetings and the prospective member shows interest in joining the Cloverdale Lions, they need to be given an application for membership. That application needs to be completed and turned in to Lion Secretary before the next meeting of the Board of Directors.

2. After the application has been given to the secretary, it is then submitted to the third vice president who will then assemble a committee of three to include: Third Vice President, one member of the Membership Retention Committee, and a Past President of the club. This committee will review the application and set up an appointment to meet with the applicant for an interview. The applicant's sponsor should also be present at this interview.

3. At the time of the interview, the committee should inform the applicant of the services the Lions Club provides for the community and how it operates. The applicant should be asked why they seek membership and how they think they can contribute to the club.

4. After the interview, the committee will discuss the applicant and make a decision on whether or not they feel the potential member is an asset to the club. The committee will then bring their findings and opinions to the Board of Directors to vote on the prospective member.

5. If the prospective member is approved for membership, he will be required to address the club at a regular meeting and tell the membership about themselves and how they feel they can contribute and help the club better serve the community.

6. The prospective member will then be inducted into the Cloverdale Lions Club.

7. Within the first six months of membership, the new member is required to complete a New Member Orientation and should strive to make all regular meetings as well to obtain the Proud Lion Award.
