Poker Run- my interpretation
I must preface this page with a disclaimer. I in no way intend to make light of the efforts of the Lions of Cloverdale in the following text. I am a simple man who is just really bored and hot right now- what is described below is intended as humor, in spite of the fact that I am probably the only person that will find it the slightest bit funny. In actuality, if I may, the last time this was cancelled, it was because our chairman was in the Hospital. I for one and glad to see him out, and glad to see him make this event a reality again. He did a bang up job on blind faith due to an early lack of commitment, and is to be commended...as are all the Lions who contributed.
Myself, I was at my 8th graders graduation. It is a mandatory condition of my contract that I attend this event, even though I am sure you guys had a hell of a lot more fun. Remember, my graduations are in a church...and that church has no leather clad women, or beer, or a band, or Tri-tip...or any of the other things that us Lions find amusing. I know this- the event was an extreme success, no one died or to my knowledge caught any "social" diseases, and that more than enough fun was had...that and that Lion Dad took some photos, which I received without any commentary- I feel I need in this case to create one for the sake of my journalistic integrity- Cheers, Lion Dave
OK- we start off easy. This is Anderson Valley Brewing Company. I know that because I have been intimate with that Bear after the devils there plied me with beer...wait...is that MA? Ok- apparently, My mother worked a stop. She would not have been so brave if it was still at the KEG...but she has a thing for leather pants.
I have known this man a long time- I have never seen him more exctied
In artistic photography, this is called a Low-Angle shot. I believe dad was trying to either: a. Make Ed look more imposing and powerful, or b. make us empathize with him, as he passed out cards, surrounded by leather clad women and beer. I am not feeling really empathetic, but Ed does seem powerful here. Oh wait- could also be that Ed is like 8.5' tall and Dad is like...well, a lot shorter. Art critique is very difficult without first hand information. Anyway, I think a Dutch Angle Shot would have worked nicely here as well. If dad had crouched just a little, it would appear that Ed was falling. I would have been able to make up much better text for that.
This is Gary's automatic reaction to a cameras- I have about 100 pics that prove it.
It appears that none of our friends that ride imports knew we were doing this thing. In terms of photographic technique- I purposely left the street sign in this edit as it was a no parking sign and is a statement about the average scoff-law that rides these sorts of two wheeled devices.
This guy needs a wolf...like, bursting through a dream catcher on the back of that vest. Maybe a caption- something like "Ride Free Or Die". Yeah- that would be cool.
